How to Apologize to Girlfriend for Hurting Her

Sometimes, words and actions can hurt more than we intend them to. Fights are part and parcel of every relationship, and there is no avoiding them. But, some things we say and do in the heat of the moment really cut deep in the other person's mind, and if we don’t act quickly, we run the risk of losing them forever. So, if you feel horrible about something bad you've said or done to your girl, here are a few ways you can apologize to her.

Don’t just say you're sorry. Say it like you mean it. Sort your thoughts and have explanations ready with beautiful apology flowers for girlfriend, to resolve the bitter things. You should be able to tell her why you acted the way you did, and how you propose to fix the trait in your personality that caused the problem or the outburst to happen.

If she is not ready to receive your apology, insist, but don't demand that she listen to you. You'll end up making the situation worse. Let her know that you're very sorry and that you did not mean anything you said or did. If she seems really upset and is not willing to hear anything you have to say, leave her alone for a few hours. When she has cooled off and regained her composure, approach her with a special gift and your apology once more. Maybe this time, she'll listen to you.

Once she is prepared to listen to you, acknowledge your actions and take full responsibility for them. Let her know that you are willing to do anything to make amends. For example, if you called her a degrading name, say that you are sorry, and that it was childish and immature of you to get worked up enough to call her something so demeaning. Assure her that you are never going to repeat it, since you have nothing but love and respect for her.

Allow her to express her anger and disappointment freely. Don't ask her to calm down. She is probably just venting, and the sooner she lets all the pain and grief out, the better for both of you.

Maintain a distance. Don't go in for an immediate hug or kiss if she's crying- she might just push you away. Let her be. Just sit in front of and beside her. If she wants your affection, she will make the first move.

In some cases, verbal apologies don't work, especially if the fight was too severe. You can opt for other ways to apologize, like writing her a love letter, or leaving flowers and chocolates at her home and place of work. You can also write her a song or a beautiful poem. Anything that shows how sorry you are about what you’ve done will help the reconciliation process.

Keep in mind that your girlfriend might not want to forgive you immediately. If that is the case, then no amount of begging and crying will change her mind. Back away and give her the space she needs. But before you leave, ensure that she knows how you feel about what you done. That is the best you can do in such a situation. Ask her to let you know when she arrives at a decision, and leave. Leave the rest up to her.
