      • They are commonly known as ice plants or carpet weeds. They are often called vygies in South Africa and New Zealand.

      Care Instructions

      • About Plant - Iceplant is a large family of dicotyledonous flowering plants containing 135 genera and about 1800 species. They are commonly known as ice plants or carpet weeds. They are often called vygies in South Africa and New Zealand.
      • Water - Water newly planted ice plants every 2-3 days for the first two weeks, then water every week or two through the first winter. Ice plant is semi-dormant in hot weather and will rot if overwatered during the summer months.
      • Temperature - Ideal temperatures should be in the range of 50 to 75 degrees F
      • Care Tips - Only fertilize once in the fall using organic or natural fertilizers.
      • Light Requirement- Ice plant requires a sunny spot that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sun a day. It can tolerate partial shade, but doesn't bloom nearly as much.
